Minecraft-themed hotel with 69 rooms to open at Chessington in 2027
Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios plan a four-floor hotel beside a new £50 million Minecraft World theme park.

A hotel themed on the video game Minecraft is set to open at Chessington World of Adventures in London in 2027.
The Minecraft World Hotel is being created by Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios. It will have four floors, with 20 premium rooms and 49 standard rooms.
The rooms will be designed around the game's biomes, and the hotel will be filled with the characters, colours, materials and mobs from the game. The hotel will also include an underwater-themed restaurant based on the game's ocean biomes and a bar themed on the game's 'Woodland Mansion'.
The hotel will sit on the site of Minecraft World, a £50 million theme park attraction that is also due to open at Chessington next year. The park will include a Minecraft-themed rollercoaster called 'Escape the Nether'.
Angela Jobson, SVP of Global Brand at Merlin Entertainments, said: "Minecraft World will allow friends and families to play, explore and craft together on a truly epic scale."
She said Merlin Entertainments was working closely with Mojang Studios on the project.
