Burberry has announced plans to turn its Regent Street flagship at 121 Regent Street into Burberry House. The company says the grand opening is planned for autumn 2027, after the restoration is completed in phases.

The store will keep serving customers during the works. Burberry's stores on New Bond Street and Sloane Street will also stay open.

Burberry moved its London flagship to the Grade II-listed building in 2012, after nearly a century on Haymarket. The company says the building was designed in the early 19th century for the Prince Regent and has been an art gallery, cinema and theatre. Burberry says the restoration will reveal original architectural details.

The 'Burberrys' clock, which hung outside the Haymarket headquarters and store for decades, will be reinstated above the Regent Street entrance. Burberry says it is made of cast iron, opal glass and gold leaf, and is being restored by horologists. The circular entrance dome in the Foyer will be restored to recreate its golden look from the 1920s, when the building was a cinema.

Inside, Burberry says the building will have a Trench Arcade with a bespoke trench coat restoration service, and a first-floor 1856 Gallery with rotating archive exhibits. It will also have a Drawing Room for client appointments, a children's department called Knight's Tale, and Burberry's Tea & Coffee, with a menu developed with a British chef.

The interiors use a new design called the Regent Concept, created with interior designer Peter Mikic. Burberry says it is inspired by the British home and will be introduced in phases across its global stores. Mikic said the starting point was 'the idea of a British home'.

Chief executive Joshua Schulman said the company is 'delighted to be restoring and reimagining our iconic Regent Street flagship as Burberry House'.
