Vistry and Kingston council have secured approval for the second phase of the Cambridge Road Estate regeneration in south-west London, a scheme set to deliver 2,170 new homes in total.

The upcoming build stage covers 383 homes, of which 94, or 25%, will be for council rent.

The plans, drawn up by architect BPTW, also include more than 700 cycle spaces, around 120 parking spaces, roughly 100 new trees and over 2,000 sq m of play space.

The approval comes after 250 homes were completed in the first phase. A further 202 units and a new community centre are currently under construction.

The project, which will be delivered over 12 years, received hybrid planning consent in 2022. That gave full permission for the first phase and outline consent for phases two to five.

Once complete, the estate will offer a mix of homes for council rent, shared ownership and market sale.
