Royal London Asset Management and Simten have received planning consent from Westminster City Council for a scheme covering 31-32 Soho Square, the former headquarters of 20th Century Fox. The site also takes in 65-66 Frith Street, 10 Chapone Place and 22-25 Dean Street.

The plans keep and refurbish parts of the site and redevelop others. The scheme will provide about 55,000 sq ft of flexible office space and new restaurant space facing Frith Street and Dean Street.

It also includes about 3,000 sq ft of affordable workspace at 22-25 Dean Street. Workspace set aside for small and medium-sized businesses is planned at 10 Chapone Place.

Philippa Lambert, investment manager at Royal London Asset Management, said the aim is to create workspace and public spaces that respect Soho's character. She said the scheme will bring new jobs, affordable workspace and a new public space.

Al Martin, director at Simten, said the project followed a long process and extensive work with Westminster's planning officers. He said the scheme pairs sensitive refurbishment with targeted redevelopment and has strong whole-life carbon performance.
