IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed Hotel Indigo London - Kingston, a 90-key hotel due to open in 2027 in Hampton Wick, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

The owner is Westcombe Group, through its Acre Hotels Collection. IHG describes Westcombe as a new partner for the company.

The hotel will be a conversion of Kingston Bridge House, a vacant former university accommodation building. The scheme also includes 22 residences. IHG says it will be the seventh Hotel Indigo in Greater London.

IHG says the hotel will have views over the River Thames. It puts London Waterloo around 20 minutes away by train and Heathrow Airport about 30 minutes away by car.

Kamal Pankhania, chief executive of Westcombe Group, said: "We are transforming a formerly vacant building into new homes, affordable housing and a five-star luxury hotel." He said the hotel would create jobs and apprenticeships and work with local suppliers.

Willemijn Geels, IHG's VP of Development for Europe, said the signing reflects strong owner demand for Hotel Indigo in the UK&I.
