Generator, a hybrid hostel and hotel brand, plans to double its portfolio by 2031. It is adding one site in London and one in Paris.

In London, the group has bought the Novotel London Greenwich and will convert it into a Generator. Opening is planned for the start of 2027, after a phased renovation that will add more communal spaces and food and beverage options. Generator already runs a property in King's Cross, which it describes as a "boutique hotel and urban hostel".

In Paris, the brand has agreed a management deal to turn an office building into Generator Paris Place d'Italie. It will work with the landlord, Covivio, on the conversion.

Generator chief executive Xavier Mufraggi said the aim is to double the portfolio through acquisitions, management agreements, hotel conversions and reuse of existing buildings. He said the two new sites are the first step and that further growth is already on the agenda.

The business was split in 2025. Queensgate Investments kept the US side, with hotels in Miami and Washington DC. The European arm, with 15 hotels and 2,800 rooms, was sold to Brookfield Asset Management for a reported EUR776 million.
