Bouygues UK wins Gateway 2 approval for 295 homes at Tustin Estate
The Building Safety Regulator signed off the second phase of the Southwark regeneration, with four minor conditions attached, after a 34-week review.

Bouygues UK has passed the Gateway 2 stage for the second phase of its Tustin Estate regeneration in Southwark, south London, covering 295 homes.
The Building Safety Regulator gave its approval subject to four minor conditions. The decision allows four blocks to be built on the eastern side of the estate.
Planning permission for the phase was announced in May last year, almost 17 months before the Gateway 2 approval.
According to Bouygues, the regulator's review lasted 34 weeks. It followed six months of detailed design work with more than 28 specialist design and engineering partners, and close to 900 documents went in with the application.
The second phase was designed with dRMM Studio Architects and people who live on the estate. It will include maisonettes along with one, two and three-bedroom flats.
The wider scheme runs in four phases and is set to provide close to 700 new homes, a primary school, a central park, refurbished council homes and more than 1,800 sq m of commercial space. Residents have already moved into the finished first phase.
Work on the estate began in autumn 2022 and is due to finish in 2030. Bouygues said it is getting ready to start construction on phase two.
