Notting Hill film house with blue door listed at $10.05m
The three-bedroom house used as William Thacker's front entrance in the 1999 film is on the market through UK Sotheby's International Realty.

The Notting Hill house whose blue front door appeared in the 1999 film Notting Hill has been listed for sale at $10.05 million. Josh Ratcliffe of UK Sotheby's International Realty is handling the sale.
The listing says screenwriter Richard Curtis once owned the house, and he owned it while the film was being made. The door stood in for the entrance to the home of Hugh Grant's character, William Thacker. Interior scenes were shot in a studio.
The house has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and 2,752 square feet of space. The kitchen, dining area and reception rooms sit in one open space. The house was originally designed as an artist's studio and has tall vaulted ceilings with several skylights.
The primary bedroom is on the first floor and has a fireplace and a large closet that leads to the en-suite bathroom. The bathroom has two sinks, a freestanding tub and a separate shower.
A spiral staircase leads to a rooftop terrace with views across Notting Hill. The house also has a courtyard garden of 34 feet, with space for dining.
Curtis said in a November 2024 radio interview that the house became the film's location by chance. He said production designer Stuart Craig came back from a two-day search with a single Polaroid of the house, without knowing it was Curtis's own.
