Guinness Homes has released the first homes at Argenta, part of the Silvertown regeneration in Royal Docks. The apartments are sold on a shared ownership basis.

Shared ownership prices start at £97,500. That figure is for a 25% share of a one-bedroom apartment with a full market value of £390,000.

Guinness will supply 430 homes during the first phase of the development. The Silvertown Partnership plans nearly 7,000 homes in total, including 1,800 designated as affordable housing.

The one and two-bedroom apartments have open-plan living areas with fitted kitchens and integrated appliances. They also have private balconies, and residents can use a landscaped communal garden with raised beds for growing fruit, vegetables and flowers.

Hellyn Fairbrother, sales manager at Guinness Homes, said the company had focused on "creating homes that offer comfort, quality and a sense of community".

The wider scheme is planned to include leisure facilities, commercial space, cafés, bars and restaurants, and a waterfront overlooking the dock. Huddy's, a coffee and brunch spot and a sister venue to Little Hudson at Royal Wharf, is due to open early on.

Plans include a 305m bridge across the dock to link pedestrians and cyclists with the Elizabeth Line at Custom House beside Excel London. West Silvertown DLR serves the area, and the Silvertown Tunnel now links Royal Docks to Greenwich Peninsula.
