Peter Ringland’s hospitality group has revealed its ambitious plans to expand its hotel portfolio to six locations over the next 20 years, as it continues to build on its recent successes in Belfast.
The Ringland Group, currently operating two hotels—the Flint and The 1852 Hotel—along with three popular bars, Amelia Hall, Town Square, and Southside Social, has set its sights on significant growth in the hospitality sector.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Peter Ringland, Managing Director of the group, said the goal is clear, “Our ambition is to develop and operate at least six hotels over the next 20 years.”
In addition to its hotel business, the group is also heavily involved in property development.
With a workforce of 160 staff, including over 70 employees dedicated to its latest development, Amelia Hall, the group is positioning itself as a key player in the region’s hospitality scene.
Major investment and new developments in the pipeline
The Ringland Group’s growth is backed by substantial investment, having already committed £5 million over the past three years, with plans to invest an additional £10 million in the next three years.
As part of its expansion, the group is currently in the planning stages for adding 60 new hotel rooms and a new rooftop bar to The Flint Hotel.
Ringland is also actively exploring new opportunities for renovation projects, with a particular focus on The Linen Quarter, a key area for Belfast’s regeneration.
This new development marks another step in the group’s efforts to strengthen its foothold in the city’s dynamic hospitality market.
Despite these ambitious growth plans, Ringland acknowledges the competitive nature of Belfast’s hospitality sector.
He notes that the local scene is “full of brilliant operators, which means that the competition is strong,” but he remains confident in the group’s ability to succeed.
As the Ringland Group looks to the future, its plans for growth signal a positive outlook for Belfast’s hospitality sector, and the addition of new hotels and bars will likely contribute to the city’s continued development as a key destination for visitors.
