Bamboo Auctions, a key player in property auction technology, has strengthened its leadership team by bringing on board two seasoned experts from the PropTech and FinTech worlds, Gary Barker and Rob Barnett.
The move signals ambitious plans for the firm, which already powers an online auction platform used by more than 1,100 estate agents and auctioneers across the UK, including prominent names like Bradleys, Stags, Webbers, Fisher German, Carter Jonas, Jackson-Stops, Michael Graham, and Hunters.
The platform allows agents to oversee their own online auction services, from listing to management, enhancing both their customer offerings and revenue streams.
So far, Bamboo’s network of agents has shifted nearly £1 billion worth of properties through the system, underscoring its growing influence in the market.
Barker brings over two decades of property technology experience to the table, having previously led Reapit as chief executive and held senior roles at Countrywide and PropTech outfits like Nurtur, COHO, and ViewMyChain.
Meanwhile, Barnett offers a wealth of FinTech know-how, with a career spanning major international firms such as Friendslife, Kingfisher, RBS Insurance, and Direct Line. More recently, he served as a non-executive director at ContentCal and chairman at Detected.
Joining Bamboo’s chief executive Robin Rathore and chairman Nicholas Leeming, the duo will play a pivotal role in steering the company’s future strategy. Rathore is optimistic about the impact of their arrival.
