GE Capital RE to run down $7bn European portfolio, boost lending

GE Capital Real Estate is to run down its European portfolio worth some $7bn, stopping new acquisitions and building up property lending, currently over $5bn, its President Lennart Sten says. The shift, part of a global strategy of the US-based group, will focus first of all on London and Paris.
